How I Spent My Summer Vacation By Lanie

I had a great summer vacation! I did many fun things like playing with my friends at school, doing fun things with my family, and seeing my first movie in a theatre ("Horton Hears a Who!")! Let me tell you about my summer:

One of the fun things I did was play with my friends at school. We did arts and crafts projects, went on field trips, had special ice cream treats, and have Water Play Fridays. It was great! On my field trips, I went to McDonald's to play on the playground, the library to listen to storytime, the zoo, and this week we're going bowling...I can't wait!

On the Fourth of July, a lot of my family came over for our traditional Bar-B-Q and fireworks night. I had a lot of fun with my cousins! After the fireworks were over, I told Daddy, " Daddy, I LOVE fireworks!!"

I went on 3 fun trips with my mom and dad. First, we went to the Lake of the Ozarks for a mini-vacation in June before summer school started. We had a lot of fun playing in the pool!

Our next trip wasn't until July, but it was also to the Lake of the Ozarks. This time, we went with Grandma, Pa-Pa, my cousins Jake and Drew, my Aunt Chickie, Uncle Todd, Uncle Aaron and his girlfriend, Ali. This was a lot of fun, too! We had yummy food, played games, swam in the pool, rode on the boat (I got to drive!), played miniature golf, and the best part was that I got to stay with Grandma and Pa-Pa with my cousins (although I'm not sure that's Grandma and Pa-Pa's favorite part or not...) We had a lot of fun at the Lake, and I can't wait to go back!

Our third trip was at the end of July, and it was a looonnggg one...but it was great! We drove all the way to Bemus Point, New York to visit with our friends Pam, Lester, Bodie and Ellie. We stayed with Bodie's Grammy and Grandad in their house on Lake Chataqua (sp?), and I even helped clean while I was there:)!
We had a lot of fun eating yummy food, going on a big boat called the Summer Wind, throwing sticks in the lake, driving around to see the sights, and just hanging out talking. I really liked being with our friends there, and can't wait until they come to visit us in Saint Louis next summer...I've been thinking of fun things to do already!!

Well, that was my summer vacation...very busy, but fun! Now, I'm back at school with my friends, working on wearing big girl pants, and am practicing on how to be three because my birthday's in October (Mommy says I'm REALLY good at being 3 already, whatever that means!) I hope you had a good couple of hot months!

THE END
