Battle of Wits?

So, Lanie has these princess snow boots that light up that she spotted in her closet yesterday. Of course, she HAD to wear them. Somehow I talked her out of wearing them to Target...Amazing!! Anyway, when we got home she said she really wanted to wear them. I told her she didn't need to because it wasn't snowing. She told me we could just pretend...okay, that's fine. I don't mind at all.

What follows, however, is the conversation between Daddy and Lanie about the boots:

Lanie: I want to wear my princess boots

Daddy: Why?! It's not snowing!

Lanie: Well, we can just pretend:)! (you could just hear the smile in her voice!)

Daddy: Okay. Well, let's pretend you're wearing the boots, then...Oh, they look so great, Lanie! I love your boots!!

Lanie: No, Daddy! I want to wear them!!!

Daddy: But, we're pretending!!
