Some Funnies

Let me just tell you...Lanie is a funny girl. Here are some stories from the past week or so:

• So, almost everyday we drive by Villa Duschene, where my aunt Dory works. I have pointed this out to Lanie many times, and she has recently gotten to the point where she will say something without me reminding her. Usually, it's a "Mommy! Aunt Dory works!" Well, yesterday (and I knew this was coming) I heard the usual "Mommy! Aunt Dory works!" Followed immediately by "Nemo works too?"
• Like most children, Lanie LOVES to point out everything she sees while we're driving: birds, busses, blue cars, clouds. This morning, while sitting at a stoplight, Lanie tells me there's a monkey in the tree next to us. "A monkey?" I ask, "Where?" "Right 'der, Mommy" I look, and say, "Huh. I don't see him." "Oh, don't see him, Mommy? Hmmm (finger on chin). Maydee he's hiding!"
• We stopped by the grocery store last night to get some last minute items for dinner with Grandma Candy--Lanie was in heaven!-- and there were some flowers in a bucket on the ground. Lanie stopped and pointed them out, and I informed her that we didn't need them, so we should keep going to buy our things. She then squatted down, put her nose in the flowers, stood up and said (with raised eyebrows and all), "Ooh, flowers smell good!"
• Oh, the joys of having a dog! Last week, we were eating breakfast and some food fell on the floor. Nitschke quickly hurried to the spot, and ate the eggs. Lanie noticed her eating, and said, "Nitchy eating eggs?" "Yup. Nitschke cleaned it up." I said. "Oh, Nitchy need fork!" (she really looks out for her doggie!)
